THE APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father, the Almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

and born of the virgin Mary.

Our Beliefs

What are the beliefs of the UCC?

The booklet entitled “About the United Church of Christ…a guide to more effective church membership” states the United Church of Christ believes in:

Stewardship Council

Stewardship Council is responsible for managing the financial assets of First Church. This includes working with the other councils to develop an operating budget plan that will fulfill the goals and mission of the church while living within the constraints of the church’s income.

Christian Caring Council

Christian Caring Council is responsible for a variety of ministries at First Church. One of the most popular programs is "2nd Tuesdayers" which provides a luncheon at noon and follows with a program on the second Tuesday of each month from September to May in Fellowship Hall. Council members also oversee activities with our UCC nursing homes such as providing our friends at Sarah Todd and Thornwald Nursing Homes with Christmas gifts.

Advisory Council

Advisory Council is responsible for working with the pastor(s), administrative assistant and all issues that involve personnel. The council is comprised of the Consistory president, Consistory vice-president, past Consistory president, pastor(s), administrative assistant, and two members at large. Advisory Council meets quarterly or more often as needed.
